An Introduction to Eating Disorders

An introduction to Eating Disorders is sponsored by the National Centre For Eating Disorders together with Greg Szanto a highly regarded Counsellor and Trainer in Eating Disorders who will present the workshop.  

 

This is an introductory workshop which provides a general overview of eating disorders and disorderly eating. It teaches the theory and the practical skills to enable you to recognize these conditions.

Recognising the eating disorders includes being aware of the predisposing, precipitating and perpetuating factors in the client. Understanding the conditions includes appreciating the relationship between eating disorders, emotions and body image, and how physiological change prolongs faulty eating behaviour.

Greg Szanto, MA(Oxon), Dip. Counselling, Dip. Eating Disorders, MBACP

Greg trained at Wealden College and the National Centre for Eating Disorders. He practises privately in Sussex, specializing in eating disorders. He has many years experience of running workshops and training programmes and is the Director of the Raphael Training Institute. He is acknowledged as one of the leading eating disorders practitioners in the South East.im
